The energy behind

With a background in interior design from Parsons School of Design NYC and Paris and an entrepreneural mind-set, Maria opened TEATIME in 2003 and with that paved the way for the forthcoming tea trend in Copenhagen.

In 2017 Maria founded QuietSpace with a vision of bringing Japanese inspired tatami rooms for “contemplative practices” - such as meditation into organisations to support and sustain employee wellbeing initiatives and selfcare practices at work.

QuietSpace is more than “just” a room. QuietSpace is a mindset, QuietSpace is a choice. When you invest in a QuietSpace, then you know that building an organisation through its people, is what truly matters. You know that when people feel safe, they grow and when people grow, organisations grow and authentic and transformative change is truly possible.

Maria has had her own daily practice since 2015. She co-hosts Urban Retreats for young founders and CEO’s, facilitates Centering meditations at large corporate events and maintains her own practice by attending yearly retreats, regular mentoring sessions, as well as a weekly Sangha. Maria is also currently attending a two year Mindfulness and Meditation Certificate Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. QuietSpace has a showroom at Matrikel1. in the heart of Copenhagen.

Why Quietspace

“QuiteSpace has given me the most important space when developing my business -the space for personal growth.”

- Cecilie Willer, Founder at Today

“QuietSpace is a room, where our employees go for some time to themselves in a very busy workday. From the moment one steps into QuietSpace, takes off one’s shoes, disconnects and to the moment one leaves again, time stands still. One goes back to work, with a calmness and sharpened state of mind, that I find hard to put into words.”

- Christian Frahm, CEO & Founder at United Fintech

“QuietSpace has given the team of Impactly a new holistic perspective on what it means to work. That working fast, also means slowing down, stepping back and gaining a new perspective on things. We often gain tunnel vision and forget to step back and simply breathe and appreciate the journey of life all together.”

- Johan Dubert, Adm. Director at Impactly
